A video leaked to brag about by 'activists', the word describing NATO agents, shows a group of apes, as they look in the clip, use a machine gun against a commercial airplane flying near Wadi Dhaif area north west Syria, near Turkish borders. The video clearly shows they confirmed the plane was a civilian one and they target it based on a fatwa (religious advisory opinion) by a Wahhabi sheikh leading them to shoot down the plane.
