The US will not 'stand in the way' of European countries providing arms to Syrian rebels, Secretary of State John Kerry said. The statement comes after France and UK demanded the lifting of an emargo so they might provide weapons directly to the rebels. At the same time EU High Representative Catherine Ashton said lifting the Syrian arms embargo was a complicated decision and the EU "needs to consider the implications of that in a number of different ways."
