At least 2,400 schools have been destroyed in Syria as a result of the civil war UNICEF announced on Tuesday, accounting for roughly 20% of educational institutions in the country. According to UNICEF's figures, 772 schools have been either completely or partly destroyed in the Idlib province and 300 in the Aleppo area. In some regions children haven't been to go to school for two years UNICEF reported. It is estimated that between 50,000 and 70,000 people have died as a result of the civil war in Syria which began in March 2011
