Venezuelan Vice President Nicolas Maduro has announced Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has entered a new stage of treatment after the surgery he underwent in the Cuban capital, Havana and that "slowly is regaining his strength."
The AFP quoted Maduro as saying on state television that Chavez "finished post-surgery and entered a new phase of treatment and is slowly regain his strength."
Maduro pointed out that Chavez met Parliament President Diosdado Cabello and Defense Minister Admiral Diego Molero.
The president has been in hospital since December 10 in Cuba after undergoing a fourth operation for cancer treatment and is improving every day, performing more of his presidential duties daily...JA
