'Syrians back Assad despite shortages'

An analyst tells Press TV that Syrians still support President Bashar al-Assad and the government in spite of all the shortages in public services due to the turmoil in the country.

The turmoil in Syria began in March 2011, and many people, including large numbers of army and security personnel, have been killed. Damascus says the chaos is being orchestrated from outside the country, and there are reports that a very large number of the militants are foreign nationals.

In an interview with Press TV, Randy Short, a member of the Dignity, Human Rights and Peace Organization, shares his thoughts over the issue.
