France Acknowledges that French Extremists Joined Armed Terrorist Groups in Syria

PARIS – French authorities acknowledged that French extremists have joined armed terrorist groups in Syria.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, French Minister of the Interior is Manuel Valls said that scores of French citizens or people living in France have already traveled to Syria, and that they're mostly groups under the influence of Al Qaeda.
He also said that there are some similar individuals who want to travel to Mali.
French authorities are carrying out counter-terrorism operations targeting individuals suspected of attempting to join extremists Islamists outside France. These operations involve monitoring cells and networks and have resulted in four arrests in Paris on Tuesday.
