TEHRAN, (SANA)- Advisor to the Iranian Islamic Revolution's Supreme Leader for International Affairs, Ali Akbar Velayati, stressed that targeting Syria comes according to a western scheme and through its tools in the region to deal a blow to the axis of opposition.
"Any attack on Syria would be considered an attack on Iran and Iran's allies in the region," Velayati told Iranian Mehr News Agency on Saturday.
He pointed out that if the Western-Zionist scheme was undermined and Syrian independence was kept, the balance of power would be completely in favor of the resistance.
"Syria had a very basic and key role in the victory of the Lebanese resistance in 2006 against the Israeli aggression ," he said.
