Al-Zoubi : France's Adoption of Opposition Council  Will Not Add Any New Political Value

Nov 18, 2012

DAMASCUS, (SANA)- Information Minister Omran al-Zoubi stressed that France's adoption of the opposition council, produced in Doha, will not add any new political value to this council.
" This adoption proves again the involvement of the ruling institution in France, regardless of the president, along with Turkey and Qatar in supporting terrorism in Syria," al-Zoubi said in an interview with al-Alam News Channel broadcast on Saturday evening.
The Minster added the failure of the first phase of the scheme of aggression on Syria represented by bringing the foreign military intervention and imposing a fait accompli in Syria pushed the sides involved in the scheme to try to get political gains through prolonging the crisis and keeping the pretext of the foreign opposition possible to use.
He added that the difference between the American and French stances became clear , but it doesn't mean that the US stance is good but the Americans seemed to be more understanding and realistic regarding their awareness that the first phase of the scheme was failed.
He reiterated that the Doha council is a "hybrid reproduction of Istanbul one" in terms of the composition, structure, the political discourse and the supportive sides as well as reproduction of the same figures and opposition institutions in a new form due to the failure of Istanbul council.
" The Doha meeting was a declaration of war on Syria as the statement issued by the council rejected dialogue, Geneva Statement and the UN envoy to Syria Kofi Annan's plan and it also rejected any peaceful action to end the crisis calling for arming and military support," the Minister said.
He pointed out that the Doha council doesn't represent anybody even it doesn't represent itself.
Al-Zoubi stressed that the Syria opposition abroad has lost its free and independent will regarding accepting dialogue or not as it allowed the others to exploit it for financial, security and political reasons which makes the idea of holding dialogue with it as impossible since its members are not of national decision as they are not part in a national dialogue.
The Information Minister stressed that Syria has no relations with the US, France or Qatar and it will not dialogue with anybody in the national issues particularly the internal issues since they are sovereign issues.
Minister al-Zoubi said if these countries have true intentions to end crisis in Syria, they should stop sending weapons and money to the terrorist groups in Syria, halt the incitement campaign and close their borders before the infiltration of gunmen and terrorists into Syria.
Minister al-Zoubi reaffirmed Syria's firm and principled stance towards the Palestinian people and issue, asserting that the Palestinian cause will remain the central issue for Syria' leadership and people.
